Regional Notes

Though small in size, the Napa Valley consists of 14 appellations with unique micro-climates and varying soils, offering ideal winemaking conditions. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon reigns king. The majority of fruit for the 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from hillside vineyards in Oakville and Rutherford that provided an intense inner core of fruit, balance and complexity.

Vintage Notes

After a dry winter and warm, dry spring, the 2007 vintage got off to an early start. The mild summer gave way to a cool and chilly September with periodic rainstorms. Cabernet vineyards were harvested with ease throughout September and October throughout Rutherford and Oakville.

Winemaking Notes

The grapes were stainless steel fermented and received extended skin contact before being transferred to barrels. The wine was aged in small French oak barrels and underwent malolactic fermentation and then racked prior to bottling.

"The upside of the recession is that wines this good are being sold for lower prices, which is great news for consumers. This really delicious. It's rich, dry, tannic and lush in blackberry and cherry tart, chocolate and smoky cedar flavors."
