Wine Spots Napa Valley Merlot

2009 Napa Valley Merlot

Tasting Notes

2009 Wine Spots Napa Valley Merlot is an elegant wine. Sweet cherry and plum aromas are accented by hints of vanilla, fine herbs and aged leather. French oak aging in small barrels emphasizes the fruit flavors of cherry, plum and blackberries and adds hints of toasty oak. This is a classic example of Napa Merlot with supple tannins and a lingering finish.

Vintage Notes

The 2009 vintage was an excellent year with none of the stress of the previous
harvest. The growing season offered mild, steady weather, resulting in bright
fruit with pure varietal character and ripeness without excessive sugar. Even
thought there were heavy storms during harvest season, the grapes were
unaffected by the rain
